A few years ago, I lost my engagement ring in a cemetery.

For days, I searched for it. While it was lost, I had a placeholder ring made with a lab-grown diamond. To my surprise, I loved wearing it..

When I finally found my original diamond, trust me when I say I felt SO grateful—but something had changed. I realized that while my ring held memories and meaning, the overall meaning of my marriage had never been in the ring itself. 

It made me question everything I thought I knew about fine jewelry. Why did a beautiful ring have to cost thousands more simply because of tradition? Why couldn’t women enjoy a larger diamond, try a new style, or celebrate a new chapter without feeling like they had to justify the price?
